Quality Assurance is an important part of Academic Excellence at Niagara College.
Quality and continuous improvement are concepts embedded in all aspects of Niagara College planning, and program and service delivery. Quality Assurance is implicit in our commitment to student success.
The Academic Quality department is responsible for ensuring program quality assurance by developing and documenting articulations and degree completion opportunities, facilitating new program development, the student feedback on courses survey, the College Quality Assurance Audit Process (CQAAP) and cyclical program reviews.
Ontario College Quality Assurance Service (OCQAS)
Ensuring quality and consistency across the post-secondary education system.
The (OCQAS) is established to provide effective and efficient mechanisms that ensure specific program quality and consistency standards are met by the Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology (CAAT) in Ontario. The OCQAS operates within the structure of Colleges Ontario, and is responsible to a separate Management Board. The Management Board operates independently of government and of any individual college or the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development. It develops policy and oversees the implementation of related processes within its specific mandate.
Recent Academic Quality News
- OCQAS Report Approved - The OCQAS board approved the final CQAAP report at its board meeting in October. Over the next 18 months we will be starting to implement the recommendations and preparing for the 18 month follow-up report.
- Final OCQAS report submitted - The audit panel has submitted their final report to the OCQAS (Ontario College Quality Assurance Service) Management Board for their review and approval at their October meeting.
