The Convocation Ceremony usually lasts between 90 minutes to two hours and consists of a processional with bagpipes, singing of O Canada, welcoming remarks, conferring of honorary awards, an address by the honorary graduand or speaker, presentation of credentials, closing remarks, and recessional. A reception follows with refreshments.
- The Auditorium will be open for seating approximately 90 minutes prior to the ceremony. Please arrive early. There is no reserved seating.
- Seating will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. As a courtesy to your fellow graduates we ask that you limit the number of guests seated in the auditorium to 3. There will be seating available in an adjacent auditorium for additional guests. Guests do not require a ticket.
- Should the auditorium become full guests will be able to view a live simulcast of the convocation ceremony held in an adjacent auditorium. Please join the graduates at the reception following the ceremony.

Photography during the ceremony
As a courtesy to graduands and guests, photographs are not permitted at the ceremony. Our photographer will take photos throughout the ceremony, and photo galleries will be available on . (You do not need a Facebook account to look at the photos.) There will be many opportunities to take photos during the reception following the ceremony.

Surprise your graduate by pre-ordering a bouquet of flowers or a beautiful diploma frame for their special day. Roses and frames will also be available for sale at Convocation.
