Christine Blane, BA, MC&EM

Ms. Blane is the Coordinator of the Event Management Post Graduate program and a Faculty in several other programs in the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Sport. Her education includes Southern Cross University, Australia and in Ontario at Ryerson University, Seneca College and Niagara College

Christine brings 30 years of business, hospitality, tourism, corporate meetings and event planning to the school. In addition to receiving credentials from Seneca College and Ryerson University, she has received her Masters of Convention and Event Management with honours from Southern Cross University in Australia. With over 20 years of teaching both in Toronto and Niagara, she has also spent time as a corporate trainer and facilitator in industry. Career experiences span many segments of the hospitality and tourism industry including hotels, cruises, airlines, corporate meetings and incentives in companies around the world.  She currently coordinates the Pinnacle award winning Event Management program. Her scholarly interests include a commitment to lifelong learning in the classroom through course instruction and in a variety of applied learning scenarios.  She particularly enjoys researching the latest trends in Event Marketing and Sponsorship, and innovative classroom delivery.
