About the Curriculum

  • Graduates with relevant experience can apply for certification to the (OACETT)
  • Students are eligible to receive an Electrical Engineering Technician diploma upon successful completion of year two
  • Three co-op work terms offer practical experience
  • This program will prepare you for an innovative role in power systems or automation. Curriculum includes:
    • Electrical Power Generation
    • Power Distribution, Protection & Control
    • Utility Planning, Metering & Energy Conservation
    • Electrical Construction & Maintenance
    • Renewable Energy Systems (Wind & Solar)
    • Power Electronic Systems (Grid-Tie & Microcontrollers)
    • Industrial Automation (PLCs & VFDs)
    • Process Control Systems (Motion & Robotics)

This program provided me with both the theoretical and hands-on skills and experience that allowed me to get a job immediately after graduation. I’m responsible for designing large scale projects like those for the 2010 Olympics.
